The Country Quilter – “Quilted”

submitted by Sue Dewar

[dropcap]A[/dropcap]A special dedication was held at the recent annual Quilts in the Garden event to honour and celebrate Ann McLean, the owner of The Country Quilter, for her 30 years in the business!

The dedication featured a magnificent quilt depicting The Country Quilter. Words cannot convey the art and talent that stand behind this quilt. The picture below says it all!

It was completed by a very talented and dedicated group of 21 ladies, who either completed a 9×14” block, sewed the project together, quilted it, or put the facings on. A group effort and truly a gift from the heart for Ann.

Congratulations Ann!

The names of the ladies who did the individual blocks are as follows :
Helga Shipman, Jane Roszell, Allison Tranter, Heather LeServe, Dianne Markle, Michele Lebel, Lynne Rochette, Marilyn Fairfull, Julia Watts, Helena Boudreau, Roberta Russell, Penny Miller, Cherril Shields, Lynn Price, Billie Sheffield, Kathi Kerr, Deborah Coffin.
The ladies who assembled it are: Lynne Rochette, Dianne Markle, Helga Shipman, Helena Boudreau, Julia Watts and Olly Chuchryk.
The long arm Quilter was Sarah Jane Smiley, and Peggy Fadyk finished it off with the facings.
