Rorwick’s Four 3rd Period Goals Give Royals Win
WINCHESTER – Dylan Rorwick put the team on his back and scored four times in the third period to lead the Richmond Royals to a 6-3 win over the Winchester Hawks in Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League action Saturday night in Winchester.
The win puts the Royals in second place in the EOJHL Martin Division. They are one point behind the Embrun Panthers but have three games in hand.
The Royals opened the scoring in the first period as Leo Kluchert scored an unassisted market.
The Hawks clawed back in the second and took a 2-1 lead on goals by Kyle Filion and William Labrosse.
In the third period, Rorwick took over.
Rorwick scored from Tyler Cutts and Shane Sullivan to tie the score at 2:05 of the third.
Cutts then scored to give Richmond a 3-2 lead with a goal from Drew Russett and Sullivan, but the Hawks evened it up less then a minute later on Ric Shin’s unassisted goal.
Rorwick then stepped up and delivered a natural hat trick with three consecutive goals. He scored the winner with an unassisted shorthanded market at 12:51. He added another unassisted goal at 17:48, and then completed the 6-3 win in the final minute with an empty netter from Tyler Hames and Tyler Cutts.
Mavric Welk made 40 saves for the win.
The Royals host the Ottawa West Golden Knights Sun., Jan. 8 at 1:20 p.m. at the Richmond Memorial Community Centre.
