The Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit is continuing its investigation of the death of a man found on a snowmobile trail off Dobson Lane near McBean Street on Richmond Road.
On Sunday, March 7 at approximately 9 a.m., a man’s body was discovered by a passerby on the snowmobile trail. Police blocked off McBean Street at Ottawa Street, south of South Carleton High School, while investigators worked the scene.
Ottawa Police told the Manotick Messenger/RichmondHub on Sunday afternoon that the identity of the body was unknown. The only detail they could provide was that the body was male. A media release sent out Sunday evening said that the identification process and next of kin notification of the victim is underway.
Anyone who was in the area of McBean Street between the hours of 9 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday and noted anything suspicious, or anyone with information is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5493.
