Manotick Messenger launches podcast
The Manotick Messenger, a community newspaper that has covered South Carleton since 1986, has launched a podcast via Soundcloud.com.
The Manotick Messenger Podcast will stream every two weeks in conjunction with the publishing dates of the newspaper.
“We are a multi-platform media company, and this was a logical next step,” said Messenger publisher and podcast host, Jeff Morris. “People listen to Ottawa news talk radio and they are inundated with issues like the LRT, what’s happening at LeBreton Flats, the city budget. We want to focus on things that matter to the people in Rural South Ottawa – in Manotick, Richmond and North Gower.”
Morris added that the podcast will help engage local residents in the issues in the community.
“Our job is to let people know what’s going on in the community, and we have to do that on as many platforms as possible,” he said. “The podcast will only get better with time. We want it to become like a nice warm cup of Rideau-Goulbourn that you can enjoy on your device or in your car as you head downtown to work or sit on your computer at home.”
