Let the Celebrations Begin – Richmond is 200 years and counting

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]The time has arrived! There is nothing left to do but come and celebrate with friends family and neighbours.  There is something for everybody this weekend and it looks like the weather is going to be fantastic! To check out your favourite events just visit this link.

The whole City has been invited. Former residents are coming “home” to celebrate too.  Make sure you are there to to help host this historic event.

Richmond’s 200th Anniversary Celebration Weekend – June 15 to 17

Every effort has been made by individual volunteers and community organizations to make this a standout event befitting a bicentennial celebration.  It bears repeating how fortunate Richmond is to have such a dedicated group of volunteers. Hats off to all of you!  A big thanks is also due to local business, government and individual sponsors without whom this important celebration of community and history would not be possible.

Cydney Green being interviewed on CTV Morning Live in the CJOH studio accompanied by the Duke of Richmond, Margaret Malloch, daughter of Maria Hill and a soldier from the 100th regiment. Margaret Malloch was dressed in an 1860’s dress and will be wearing it as one of the characters on the Heritage Walking tour of McBean Street on Saturday. Both she and the Duke are members of the Goulbourn Historical Society and the soldier is a member of the 100th Regiment of Foot that settled Richmond
