[dropcap]S[/dropcap]St Philip and St Clare Knights of Columbus hosted their first annual Charity Raffle this year. The Grand Prize was a 100-level suite at a Senators game worth over $5,000.00 (donated by Tony Graham Motors). In addition, there were four other prizes including an Erik Karlsson Jersey, 2 x 100 level Sens tickets and finally two cash prizes of $200 and $100.
The draw was held Sunday March 25 at Father Michael Gillissie Parish Hall in Richmond. The winner of the Grand Prize for the 100-level Suite is Derrick Ward of Gloucester. The other winners are:
Erik Karlsson Jersey: Ken Purdy of Munster Hamlet
100 Level Sens Tickets: Josephine Geraughty of Richmond
$200 cash: Peter Leroux of Richmond
$100 cash: Dave Redekop of Westboro
All of the net proceeds (almost $10,000) from this raffle will be distributed to local charities including St. Philip Church, St. Clare Church, Richmond Food Bank, Special Olympics and St. Vincent de Paul Society. A Representative from the Richmond Food Bank (Michelle McIver) was on hand at the draw to receive a cheque in the amount of $2,775.00. The St. Philip and St. Clare Knights of Columbus are regular supporters of our local Food Bank who provide an incredible service to our community.
The Knights wish to extend their appreciation to everyone who purchased a ticket and to King’s Independent Grocer for providing space on one of the week-ends to sell tickets.
