David Brown to seek Rideau-Goulbourn Council Seat

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]This just in from the Manotick Messanger : Richmond resident and Richmond Fair President David Brown will file nomination papers seeking the Rideau-Goulbourn Council seat in the upcoming municipal elections slated for October 22nd.

Brown, born and raised in Richmond, is 27 years of age and brings the energy of youth to the campaign.  Moreover, he has a wealth of experience to offer through his candidacy.  Many familiar with Brown will know him for his years of volunteer service in the community, his years with the Richmond Agricultural Society or his work as an employee in Scott Moffatt’s office, our current Councillor for Ward 21.  You may not know that  he also served from 2013 to 2015 as an assistant to Carleton Conservative MP and Minister, Pierre Poilievre. Suffice it to say you “grow a lot” and very quickly in assignments such as those!

Quoting from the article in the Messenger: “I gained a lot of knowledge,” said Brown “that residents really do expect their municipality to provide their basic services and they expect them to be provided in a timely manner and at a value for their tax dollar.  They do not expect to have to fight the municipality for services they are paying for.”  He also stated “I’ve always had an interest in Public Service  … I absolutely feel I can make a difference at City Hall …”

There are few callings more noble than Public Service.  Ward 21 residents are lucky to have a candidate with David Brown’s energy, ideas and experience throw his hat in the ring!  Read more about Mr. Brown, his background and thoughts in the current issue of the Manotick Messenger.  No word yet on Councillor Moffatt’s plans.
