38th annual Richmond Road Race begins Sunday a.m. at South Carleton High School

The 38th annual Richmond Road Race hosted by Run Ottawa will take place Sunday morning in Richmond.
The races start in front of South Carleton High School on McBean Street in Richmond at 10 a.m. Sunday. The 5k race starts first, running south on McBean Street to Dobson Lane where runners will be directed east on Dobson to a turnaround point where they will be sent back to the finish line in front of the school.
The 10k race starts at 10:10 a.m. This race starts off with a 1K loop on roads that surround the school, then runners turn onto McBean Street and sent on a route that runs on mostly paved roads south of Richmond via Dobson and McCordick Roads. The final 4K, runners head north on Century Road and McBean Street into the finish.
For those registered to run, race kit pick up times are Frimday from 5-8 p.m. at Bushtakah in Westboro at 203 Richmond Road, or Saturday from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Bushtakah at 5607 Hazeldean Road in Kanata. You can also pick up your kit from 8:30-9:45a.m. on race day in the South Carleton High School cafeteria.
n addition to the lunch, within the post-race social, awards will be provided to the following:
Top finisher prizes will be given out to the first three male and female finishers in each event. There will be no age category awards, however, there will be a large number of draw prizes courtesy of Run Ottawa, Bushtukah and Zizu.
